CLOCC is

a community & network-driven programme

Sirk Norge, primarily funded by Norad (the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation). To effectively implement the project and ensure its sustainability, we require additional funding and welcome other partners. We actively apply for funding from various sources to support long-term implementation.

Our vision is to achieve healthy societies and a clean environment through sustainable communities, green jobs, and business opportunities in local circular economies.

OUR GOALS

CLOCC’s Goals for Integrated Sustainable Waste Management

CLOCC’s mission is to reduce marine plastic pollution through holistic waste management, improving collection, recycling, and organic waste treatment while engaging stakeholders at all levels.

By integrating local action with policy engagement, CLOCC promotes systematic, inclusive, and impactful waste solutions for cleaner environments, sustainable jobs, and a resilient circular economy.

1. Empower communities and drive local innovation:

Build local capacity and ownership so communities can design and manage waste systems tailored to their needs. Improve livelihoods through sustainable job creation and stimulate circular economies, while promoting climate-positive actions. Collaborate with local, state, and national authorities to shape policies and regulations that reinforce sustainable waste management practices, ensuring that local insights drive broader environmental strategies.

2. Create sustainable, zero-pollution systems:

Prevent environmental pollution — on land, in the air, and in our oceans - through integrated waste management practices that combine grassroots efforts with supportive policies by ensuring complete waste collection, reducing open dumping and burning, and preventing contaminants. Drive a comprehensive shift in waste management practices—from grassroots initiatives to top-down policy support—ensuring that best practices are shared and scaled.

3. Maximize resource recovery and economic benefits:

Enhance recycling and resource recovery processes to capture value from waste, stimulate local economies, and drive circular, climate-positive outcomes.

Clean Oceans through Clean Communities (CLOCC) is a community & network driven programme owned by Sirk Norge and funded by Norad (the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation).

Our vision is to achieve healthy societies and a clean environment - through sustainable communities, green jobs and business opportunities in local circular economies.
